About
Right now Midsummer Books is a bit of a dream. As we slowly work toward getting up and running we will host pop-up book sales, writing workshops, and other opportunities to serve the young readers and writers of Philly.

Our vision for Midsummer Books
Vision Statement
At Midsummer Books, we believe that every young reader deserves a place where they can get lost in a story, discover their next favorite author, or even dream up a world of their own. We’re building a space that will be more than a bookstore—it will be a hideout for book-loving tweens and teens, a creative spark for budding writers, and a haven for kids who just need a cool place to hang out (preferably with a book in hand). Our vision is to build a community where curiosity thrives, imagination runs wild, and stories—whether told on paper, through art, or over a board game—bring people together.

Mission Statement
Midsummer Books is here to fill a much-needed gap in the literary world: a space designed for all young readers with a specific focus on young readers aged 8-18.
Our mission is to curate an exceptional selection of middle grade, young adult, and educational books that speak to the diverse experiences, interests, and wild imaginations of today’s kids and teens. But we’re not just about books—we’re about fostering creativity, connection, and a lifelong love of stories.
Through author events, writing workshops, reading groups, and even some epic board game battles, we aim to be more than just a bookstore. We want to be their bookstore—a place where kids feel seen, parents feel supported, and everyone leaves with something that sparks joy (or at least a really great pun).
